Autumn - Hairst Moon

As Summer moves to Autumn the air gets a bit nippier and the dark nights start to creep in earlier. As the calendar edges towards September, the crops that have been growing all summer are now ready to be harvested. During a clear harvest night, the moon is large and has a distinct orange glow, known in Orkney as a "Hairst Moon". This fragrance carries the distinct notes of all things Autumn with strong hints of nutmeg, caramel and ginger, taking on a strong resemblence to the the ever popular pumpkin spice.
